Happy Snow Day!
Practice, Practice, Practice!! Since we have no class tonight, great night to practice!! Everyone, put your shoes on to stay warm!!
Extra Tuesday class, PDT Studio
Adv. Beginner/Novice – 6:30pm – 7:45pm – great for makeup classes and as well as extra class.
PW/Champ – 7:45pm – 9pm
$10 extra class fee
St Patrick’s Day Parade Practice and Parade Dates –
Saturday, March 8 – Tentative parade practice – place and time will be announced.
Saturday, March 15 – Montgomery Co AOH Division #1 Parade, Conshohocken
Sunday, March 16 – Philadelphia St Patrick’s Day Parade, Philadelphia – www.philadelphiastpatsparade.com
***We participate in both parades and the dancers are expected to participate in both not just one. If your child is interested in participating in the parades they need to attend parade practice.
All participants in the parade must wear the following: I will be sending the used dress list out too.
1. Coyle School Costume with black tights and black shoes, dance sneakers or other black shoes.
2. Coyle School skirt and cape, white turtleneck and either a white sweater or white sweatshirt. The sweater or sweater must be all white. Black tights and black shoes. If you need to order a skirt and cape, go to the school website and click on the Coyle School Skirt link on the left of the homepage and follow directions. Remember this skirt is coming from Belfast will take a few weeks. You must put this skirt and cape is for the “Coyle School in Phila, USA”.
3. Boys: black pants, dark turtle neck and an Irish Sweater. Black shoes.
GIRLS HAIR: Dancers must have their hair curled, in ringlets or dancers may choose to wear a wig. If you need a wig, please let me know.
NO BUNS, PONYTAILS, or BANANA CLIPS PERMITTED. Dancers should have on the Coyle School headband with the school dress or a white ribbon or white headband if you are in the skirt and cape – NO TIARAS. If there is inclement weather will we allow the girls to wear their hair in a ponytail with a white ribbon, no wigs.
If it is cold, dancers will be allowed to wear their coats till the last minute!
PARENTS: We ask that only the dads of our dancers march with us. We will have sign-up sheets on the day of the practice. Dads are to wear the same as our boy dancers: black slacks, dark turtle neck and a traditional Irish sweater. Our dads are in charge of security, bathrooms runs and coat removal. As always, email your teacher with questions. We look forward to a great practice and a fun time at the parades!!!
Summer Camps: Tentatively scheduled for the weeks of July 7 and July 14. Not sure which will be day and which will be night camp. As soon as we get that together, you will know. Remember if your child would like to participate in the team/ceili/group dancing at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Oireachtas in November they are required to attend at least one week of camp.
