1. Parents and younger siblings are not to stay in the room while class is in progress. Since this is a new location for the first two weeks parents may stay until our new system of drop off and pick up is confirmed.
2. Parents may sit in on the first class of each month. If it becomes a distraction I will cancel this policy. At this class you can video tape the class and write the steps down. Steps taught in class are to be remembered; children should practice each night. It is very important for all students to stay with the rest of the class.
3. Regular class attendance is required. However, if your child misses a class he/she is welcome to make up classes at other locations. When you know that your child will miss a class, let me know and I can give you an alternative class location and time.

Correspondence
Most of the school’s correspondence is done via email and through this website. The website (and the School message board HERE) should be checked weekly for any updates and/or changes. All monthly newsletters and announcements are posted on this site.
My email address is patswrabs@verizon.net

Attire
Each child should have the proper shoes and clothing when coming to dance class.

  • Jeans and sneakers are unacceptable. Shorts, skirts, or stretch pants are fine. I must be able to see their legs and they must be able to move their legs.
  • New Beginner students can wear the ballet shoes with the elastic across the arch.
  • Girl’s hair should be up and off their face. If your daughter’s hair is long enough it must be in a pony tail, pig tails or bun – securely held. If it is too short for either of those styles then a headband should be worn.
  • There will be no gum chewing.
  • Do not let you child wear big jewelry to class, it is a distraction to your child and to others as well. Also, any item of clothing that is a distraction.

School Functions
Coyle School Feis – Every November the dancing school hosts the Coyle School Feis (competition) at Norristown High School. If your child is entered in the feis then your family is required to have one family member volunteer at least 2 hours before, during, or after the competition. As you are aware, we have over 1,000 competitors and ours is one of the best run competitions because of the parent support. More information on the feis will be posted on this website around October, 2010. 30th Anniversary Dinner Dance- September 30th at the Dolce Hotel in King of Prussia featuring Blackthorn.

Fund Raising – we have limited number of fundraisers. Including a raffle in the fall, Stocks Pound cake sale, and other events.

Parades – The dancing school participates in two parades – Montgomery County St. Patrick’s Day Parade and the Philadelphia St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parades are not mandatory, but if the children come to parade practice they are required to walk in both parades and they must have the school costume and or the school skirt and cape.

Ceili (dance) – An after parade party has been held after the Philadelphia Parade. Music and dancing . . . fun for everyone. Hopefully we can continue with this tradition. This year the event will be held after the Conshohocken Parade Recital/ End of Year Showcase – usually held in the spring.
