Eileen’s News – December

Christmas Donation:  In year’s past we have asked that instead of giving a teacher gift, that a small monetary donation be given instead, we are asking for that this year too.  In previous years, we have sent donations to a priest friend of ours in Berma to help set up a computer lab; another priest friend in Panama doing missionary work, and USO packages to soldiers overseas.  This year we would like to “ADOPT” an Irish dancing family that has been displaced due to Hurricane Sandy.  I’m sure that everyone has donated something to some type of Hurricane Sandy relief fund, but there are families in the Irish dancing world that have lost everything . . . cars, houses, belongings, as well as their Irish dance shoes and costumes.  Please put you donation in a sealed envelope marked Christmas Donation.  This is totally voluntary, not mandatory.  Thank you in advance.

Please check my “Eileen’s” Class Calendar.  It is pretty much filled out till June.

The next payment is due in January for those that selected the “Two Payment” Option.  Payment is $200 for everyone.

Saturday, March 16 – Montgomery Co AOH Division #1 Parade, Conshohocken

We participate in both parades and the dancers are expected to participate in both not just one.  If you child is interested in participating in the parades they need to attend parade practice.  Practice day and time will be announced in January.

Inclement Weather – for weekday classes, if schools are closed or have early dismissal, there will be no classes held that night.  For Saturday classes, I will (1) send an email by 8:15am, (2) post a message on the Coyle School of Irish Dance – PA & NJ’s Facebook page.  Please Note:  I will not make phone calls.  Please check the website or Facebook page for any updated information regarding weather related cancellations.

Class Attire – I know that is is going to be getting colder out, but please make sure that the dancers have shorts, leggings, skirt, or skort.  I need to see their legs and feet.  They can bring them in their bag and change into them in the bathroom or wear them under their sweat pants.

Shoes:  Please make sure that everyone has the correct shoes.  The girls need to have the little ballet shoes with the elastic across the arch, the little slipper things do not work.  They can not point their toes in them correctly.  They would have to have the correct equipment if they were playing soccer, football, or feildhockey . . . so pleas have them wear the correct equipment for Irish dance.
