Eileen News – January
NO CLASS – Tuesday, January 17
St Patrick’s Day – the dancing school is involved in two parades.
Saturday, March 10 – Montgomery Co AOH, Division #1 (Conshohocken)
Sunday, March 11 – Philadelphia St Patrick’s Day Parade (Downtown Philadelphia)
We participate in both parades and the dancers are expected to participate in both not just one. If your child is interested in participating in the parades they need to attend parade practice.
Parade practice will be held on Saturday, March 3 at the PDT Studio in Mt Airy (where Saturday classes are held). Practice time to be determined. Please mark your calendars now.
Parade attire –
~Female beginner students can wear the Coyle beginner skirt with black tights. The beginner skirt can be ordered through the link on the home page of our website. ORDER THEM NOW if you are going to have your child participate. ~Older dancers can wear theCoyleSchool royal blue school costume with black tights.
~Boys are to wear an Irish sweater and black pants. All students are to wear black shoes.
~Fathers walking with the dancing school must have an Irish sweater and black pants. We ask that everyone else proceed to the reviewing stands and watch the parade. ONLY dancers, teachers and fathers walk along the parade route.
Inclement weather – For weekday classes, if schools are closed or have early dismissal, there will be no classes held that night. For Saturday classes, I will (1) send and email by 8:15am, (2) post a message on my Newsletter page and calendar, (3) post something on the Coyle School of Irish Dance – PA & NJ’s Facebook page. Please note: I will not make phone calls. Please check the website or Facebook page for any updated information regarding weather related cancellations.
Class Attire – I know that it is getting colder, but please make sure that the dancers have shorts, leggings, skirt, or skort. I need to see their legs and feet. They can bring them in their bag and change into them in the bathroom or wear them under their sweatpants. Also, please make sure that everyone has the correct shoes and a pair of socks on. They need to have the correct equipment when coming to Irish Dance class – just like they would for soccer, field hockey, or any other sport.
Coyle Clothing order – in the next week or so I will be getting an order together for “Coyle” clothing. I will email the orders to all the families.
